Optical isolation provides greater protection for both card and PC from electrical current

surges. It also improves noise immunity by isolating the PC from card’s transmit ground.

The opto-isolated cards listed below have optical isolation of ±1500V DC/1000V AC.

On board terminating resistors provide full fail-safe open/short circuit protection.

They are ideal for use in situations where ‘floating grounds’ are likely, for example where

portable generators are in use, or where there is a high risk of power surges from

lightning strikes or cable ruptures.
